I agree, I use essential oils for all my kitchen cleaning. Personally I dilike the smell of lavender ( bad memories) so I use a eucalyptus/ white vinegar/water mix. Eucalyptus does smell storng but I've never met the mark it cannot beat.!

I just found your blog and I like it :)
I just thought that I'd put my 2 cents worth here as salt is a an effective disinfectant. I grew up using many different natural cleaners and one that showed up often was salt. After using meat on a cutting board we would wash it with hot soapy water and then scatter salt on it while wet and let it set for a while. A few hours later wipe the salt off and give it a rinse. It is a good abrasive when cleaning naturally.
Salt water is often used in my household for nearly everything that ailes you as well :) my boyfriend teases me about it but oh well! sore throat - gargle salt water, infected hang nail- soak in salt water, blisters and calluses - soak in salt water etc, etc... I could never live without my salt (natural sea salt of course), lemons, and vinegar!
I'm just starting to get into essential oils and i'm glad lavender is an antibacterial because I just LOVE how it smells! :)
